**NEW** Collegiate Women’s Mentorship Program
Deadline: Feb. 3, 2020
The AFR/OFU Women’s Cooperative is dedicated to education within our communities. Our eight council members represent a diverse group of businesswomen and community leaders. It is our goal to offer mentorship opportunities to collegiate women and serve as professional role models. The AFR/OFU Young Women’s Mentorship program is designed to offer college students a one-on-one mentorship with a selected AFR/OFU Women’s Cooperative council member. With professional development, networking opportunities and philanthropic project experience, AFR/OFU Women’s Cooperative council members hope to share their own skill sets with other ambitious, career-driven young professionals.
Selected applicants will be paired with an AFR/OFU Women’s Cooperative council member. The selected applicants will be invited to all AFR/OFU Women’s Cooperative events including council planning meetings, the annual Women’s Cooperative state conference trip and the AFR/OFU State Convention. Selected applicants will also be encouraged to host their own event in conjunction with the 2020 Women’s Cooperative Initiative (i.e. their own blood drive/food drive, etc.).

The Women’s Cooperative has partnered with the Oklahoma Blood Institute, America’s sixth largest non-profit blood donating center, to increase awareness of the need for donating blood. We are challenging our AFR/OFU members to have at least one blood drive participant from each county in Oklahoma.
In 2019 alone, through the AFR/OFU Women’s Cooperative affiliated blood drives, 7,341 lives were saved with more than 304 first-time donors.
Each year the Women’s Cooperative plans an exciting long weekend for the women of our organization. Enjoy a relaxing weekend full of education, entertainment and many fun memories. Our destination for the 2020 Women’s Conference will be determined in December and announced after the first of the 2020 year.
